Design and Implementation

Overview

The entire project spans for nine weeks. The first three weeks were spent on the discussion of the overall idea and design of the network games. We stressed on the overall design so that we would be able to minimize the compatiability problems which arose from implementation.

The following six weeks were spent on the implementation of the networking games including writing program codes, project discussion as well as home page design and implementation.

In designing and implementing of the network games, huge effort has been paid on the part of networking. Special features are stressed on the following areas :

  • Packet.
  • Protocol.
  • System.
  • Fault tolerance.

    • In order to make the game more marketable as well as interesting, we have added some special features to it. Besides, the game can be played on the platform of SunOS 4.1.3 and Solaris 2.3/4 with 24-bit colour display. It is also highly secured with different password protection on membership and virtual money features.
